How embla sparks
One question a day. The same one for everyone.
Before embla shows you anything, you answer the question of the day. A slider between two poles, that takes seconds, and it opens the app. If you want to, you also write a sentence in your own words. The next day there is a new question. This is not a side feature, it is the door.

The sofra: the people who wrote something
The sofra is the low round table Albanian families sit around and talk. On embla it is the only place where you meet people. It holds the people who wrote a sentence about today's question and fit your search circle: you set the radius, the age range and the language yourself, and that costs nothing. Most people move the slider, few write a sentence, and it is that sentence which puts you at the table. Nothing is swiped here: every sentence carries a spark, a next and a reply. A spark is blank, free and unlimited, for everyone. Five new people a day are free; with embla+ you see every answer of the day. Whoever has more to say sends a word: a reply to that exact sentence, landing straight in the chat, no match required.
No empty text box
On embla nobody can message you out of nowhere, and you can't do it to anyone either. Every first contact is a reply to something the other person wrote or showed. That is not a house rule, it is enforced on the server. And when it fits, it turns into a conversation, and eventually into the first coffee.

What is embla?
embla is a new dating app for the Albanian community – for Albanians in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia and the entire diaspora. Every day works the same way: there is one question for everyone, you answer it first, and only then do you see the others. The sofra holds the people who wrote a sentence about it today, not cards in a stack.
Do I really have to answer the question of the day every day?
Yes, and that is on purpose. Without your answer embla doesn't open: no tabs, no sofra, no chats. Moving the slider takes seconds and is enough for that. Writing a sentence about it is voluntary, and it is the step that counts: only people who write end up on the sofra themselves.
How much does embla cost?
Nothing. Sparks are unlimited and never cost anything, and neither do matching, chatting or seeing who likes you. All visibility levels, incognito mode, one travel window and your search circle of radius, age and language are free too. Free every day: five new people on the sofra and one word, the reply that lands straight in a chat. embla+ lifts exactly those limits: every answer of the day from your search circle, ten words a day, a finer search by heritage, intention, religion, wish for children and minimum height, five travel windows at once and the embla+ badge on your profile. embla+ costs 8.99 € a month, 19.99 € for three months or 32.99 € for six; less in Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia. On their own there are word packs, three for 1.99 € and ten for 4.99 €, and the day pass „every answer of today“ for 1.99 €. Three things are never for sale on embla: visibility, access to the people who like you, and more than eight open encounters at once – the cap of eight applies with embla+ too. How does embla protect against fake profiles?
Two things, and the second one matters more. First: every profile goes through selfie verification before it becomes visible. A short video selfie is matched automatically against the profile photos; without that check you don't see the sofra, and nobody sees you there either. Second: a match only ever happens through genuine mutuality. Nothing on embla sparks back on its own; a spark back always comes from a person who has seen your profile. So nothing can pretend to you that somebody likes you. And we don't buy profiles and we don't invent numbers.

Why are waitlist spots limited?

What happens to my data?
Your data stays in Europe, GDPR-compliant, and is never sold. On the waitlist we only store what you enter yourself – and delete it immediately upon an informal email.
