What is a spark?
A like is called a spark at embla. It always refers to a specific sentence or photo and you tap it instead of swiping. Seeing who likes you is free, no subscription needed.
When does embla launch and how will I know?
The launch happens worldwide at the same time. Everyone on the waitlist gets an email on launch day, plus 6 months of embla+ for free.
How does verification work?
Every profile goes through a selfie check before it becomes visible at all. That is how we make sure the photos belong to the person. At embla verification is the standard, not a paid extra.
Do you swipe on embla?
No. Instead of an endless profile feed there is one question a day. You see how others answered it and react to a specific sentence rather than to a photo.
Can you buy more visibility?
No. There is no purchasable visibility at embla, so no boost and no spotlight. Sparks, all visibility levels and incognito mode are free for everyone. Also not for sale: access to the people who like you, and more than eight open encounters at once. That cap applies with embla+ too, because it is not a product but a nudge to decide.
How do I delete my account?
Directly in the app: Settings → Delete account. This deletes your profile, photos, and messages. Alternatively, an informal email to hello@embla-app.com is enough.
How do I report or block someone?
On every profile and in every chat, the menu offers “Report” and “Block”. We review reports promptly; blocks take effect immediately in both directions.
What happens to my data?
Your data stays in Europe, is never sold, and there is no ad tracking. All details are in the privacy policy.
How much does embla cost?
The core features are free: unlimited sparks, all visibility levels, incognito mode, seeing who likes you, and your search circle of radius, age and language. Free every day: five new people on the sofra and one word. embla+ adds every answer of the day from your search circle, ten words a day, the finer search by heritage, intention, religion, wish for children and minimum height, five travel windows at once and the badge; it costs 8.99 € a month, 19.99 € for three months or 32.99 € for six. There are also word packs (three for 1.99 €, ten for 4.99 €) and the day pass for 1.99 €. Everyone who joined the waitlist gets 6 months of embla+ free. Visibility is never for sale on embla.
